Rutronik launches robotics initiative for intelligent automation systems
Rutronik has launched Rutronik Robotics, a new initiative that brings together the distributor’s technologies, engineering expertise and technology partners to support the development of next-generation robotics and intelligent automation systems.
Robotics is becoming an increasingly important growth market across industries, with advances in artificial intelligence (AI), sensors, connectivity and automation enabling more capable and autonomous robotic systems.
Applications now span industrial manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, autonomous machines and intelligent service systems. At the same time, robotics development is becoming increasingly complex, requiring teams to integrate motion control, sensing, embedded AI, power management, connectivity and functional safety within a single system.
Rutronik Robotics Combines Components and Engineering Expertise
Rutronik is taking a system-level approach through its Rutronik Robotics initiative. The offering combines semiconductors, passive and electromechanical components, embedded AI technologies, software and system expertise.
Customers can also access engineering support, reference designs and rapid prototyping capabilities through Rutronik System Solutions, helping development teams move from component selection and evaluation towards working robotics platforms.
The initiative is designed to support developers throughout the robotics development process, from individual components and subsystems through to more complete system solutions.
Technology Partners Support Robotics Development
Rutronik Robotics also brings together technology partners supplying key components and technologies for robotic systems.
Participating manufacturers include Infineon, ams-OSRAM, Altera and RECOM Power. Their technologies cover areas including computing, power supply, power management and sensing, providing building blocks for robotic systems that require high performance, energy efficiency and reliable operation.
“Robotics is on the threshold of a new stage of development. Intelligent, autonomous and collaborative systems will find their way into more and more applications,” said Fabian Plentz, COO and company spokesperson at Rutronik.
“With Rutronik Robotics, we are creating an environment that brings customers, technology partners and developers together to reduce development effort, accelerate innovation and bring robotics solutions to market faster.”
Supporting Industrial Robots, AMRs and Humanoids
Rutronik Robotics is intended to support a broad range of robotic platforms and applications, including industrial robots, SCARA and delta robots, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), collaborative robots (cobots), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and humanoid robots.
The company says it will continue to expand its network of specialised technology partners, giving customers access to new technologies and development expertise across the robotics value chain.
The Rutronik Robotics initiative is intended to help engineers address the increasing complexity of robotic system design by bringing component technologies, engineering support and partner expertise together through a single ecosystem.
