Melexis to showcase robotics, sensing and mobility technologies at electronica 2026
Melexis will demonstrate its latest sensor, protection and motor control technologies at electronica 2026, highlighting applications in electric vehicles, battery safety, robotics, industrial automation and wearable electronics. Visitors can explore the demonstrations at Booth C6.139 in Munich from 10 to 13 November.
The company’s showcase will include high-voltage power conversion, advanced battery monitoring, precision motion control and human-machine interaction, with a particular focus on improving efficiency, safety and reliability across next-generation electronic systems.
Improving power efficiency and battery safety
As electric vehicle and data centre power systems move towards higher operating voltages, managing voltage spikes and electrical noise is becoming increasingly important. Melexis will demonstrate its MLX91299 silicon-RC snubber, designed to suppress voltage spikes and ringing at switching components. The technology aims to improve reliability in applications including EV powertrains, DC-DC converters and 800 V data centre infrastructure.
Battery safety will also feature prominently, with Melexis showcasing high-accuracy current sensing and early fault detection technologies. Its portfolio includes hydrogen (H₂) sensing alongside pressure and temperature monitoring, helping engineers identify potential battery faults at an early stage and reduce the risk of thermal runaway.
The company will also demonstrate its Triphibian pressure sensing technology, which measures liquids, gases and frozen media. This can support thermal management in applications such as battery cooling systems.
For vehicle dynamics and safety-critical applications, Melexis will present magnetic and inductive position sensors designed to provide accurate, redundant feedback for braking, steering and drive-by-wire systems.
Precision sensing and motion control for robotics
Robotics will be another key focus, with a live collaborative robot (cobot) demonstration featuring the Melexis Tactaxis fingertip module. The technology provides contact sensing for robotic applications, helping collaborative robots detect physical interaction and handle objects with greater sensitivity.
The demonstrations will also include magnetic and inductive encoders for accurate angular position feedback in robotic joints, alongside Melexis motor drivers designed for compact, smooth and intelligent motion control.
Visitors will also be able to learn more about the company’s development of code-free motor control solutions, which aim to simplify implementation by reducing the need for software development.
Automotive interfaces, wearables and e-bike technology
Melexis will showcase its MeLiBu LED driver technology, which supports networked automotive lighting and dynamic interior and exterior illumination while helping simplify vehicle wiring.
The company will also demonstrate non-contact magnetic latches and switches as alternatives to conventional mechanical components in applications such as joysticks and vehicle seating controls. These solutions can reduce mechanical wear while supporting more compact designs.
Beyond automotive applications, Melexis will highlight far-infrared (FIR) non-contact temperature sensors for smart wearables and digital health devices. Compact sensing and driver components for e-bikes will also feature, demonstrating the company’s wider portfolio of technologies for personal mobility and connected devices.
