Richardson RFPD announces support for Skyworks’ RF front end module

Distributor, Richardson RFPD has announced availability of front-end modules for internet of things (IoT) applications from Skyworks. The SKY66112-11 integrated radio frequency (RF) front end modules (FEM) is designed for ZigBee, Thread and Bluetooth Smart applications.

The SKY66112-11 will be available from Richardson RFPD, with full design support capabilities for the Skyworks 2.4GHz FEM.

The RF FEM is designed for ZigBee, Thread and Bluetooth Smart applications. The SKY66112-11 provides an integrated inter-stage matching and harmonic filter. Digital controls compatible with 1.6 to 3.6V complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) levels. It maximises battery life while simultaneously increasing transmission range with improved power, says Richardson RFPD.

The SKY66112-11 integrates a power amplifier with up to +21dBm output power, a low noise amplifier with 2.0dB noise figure and bypass path, and antenna diversity switching for all modes.

Frequency range is 2400 to 2483MHz and switch on/off time is less than 800ns. In sleep mode, current consumption is less than one microA.

The SKY66112-11 is available in a small, 22-pin, multi-chip module (MCM) which measures 3.5 x 3.0 x 1.0mm. The RF FME is designed for IoT applications, such as in-home appliances, smart thermostats, smart lighting, sensors, range extenders, and other IoT devices.

Richardson RFPD is an Arrow Electronics company, specialising in RF and wireless communications, power conversion and renewable energy markets. For customers designing components or engineering complete solutions, Richardson RFPD’s design centers and technical sales team provide support from prototype to production.
