Integrated modules accommodates smart metering

Designed for use in smart energy, smart metering (electric, gas, water, heat), security, RFID, industrial and other IoT applications, the SKY66115-11 front-end module (FEM) has been announced by Skyworks.

The integrated 470 to 510MHz FEM operates over a variety of supply voltages at low power consumption, and comes in a small 4 x 4 x 0.9mm, 16pin, multi-chip module. According to the company, its extended range more than doubles when compared to a standalone SoC.

The company has partnered with Texas Instruments to combine the module with TI’s CC1310 wireless microcontroller, to address long-range, low-power and cost-effective design.
