Dengrove offers Recom DIN-rail PSUs to boost productivity
DIN-rail power supplies, the Redin120 and Redin240 power supply units (PSUs) manufactured by Recom, are now available from Dengrove Electronic Components.
The Redin120 and Redin240 power supplies can deliver up to 50 per cent above rated power, which enables equipment to operate continuously during short-term overloads, avoiding disruptive shutdown-reset. It also allows designers to satisfy high system-demand peaks using smaller, lower-cost power supplies.
The Redin120 and Redin240 power supplies, are offered in 120 or 240W rating options. They can fulfil a variety of applications in industrial automation, test and inspection equipment, vending systems, metering, building automation and communication equipment. Active power factor correction (PFC) is built in, and all units are UL508 listed, UL60950-1/IEC60950-1 certified, and are CE marked.
Packaged in slimline cases that are only 33mm wide (Redin120) and 46mm (Redin240), allow conventional mounting while leaving plenty of rail space for other modules, or they can be mounted sideways for a lower profile. Several modules can be connected in series to deliver higher power or provide redundancy. Universal AC inputs simplify design-in to equipment for any market worldwide, The Redin120 series is available with 12, 24 or 48V output. Redin240 modules have 24 or 48V output.
The PSUs are extremely efficient, with up to 92.5 per cent efficiency for Redin120 and 94.3 per cent efficiency for Redin240. This not only saves energy but also minimises internal heating needs, to ensure longer sustained operation and greater reliability. The units can operate from -25 to +70 degree C, and deliver full rated power at up to 60 degree C. Over-temperature, over-voltage, short-circuit, and smart overload protection are all built in. Each module has red and green LED (light emitting diode) status indicators, as well as a “power good” relay that can be used to drive a front-panel indicator or send an error signal to the programmable logic controller (PLC).
The high-quality construction includes conformal coating, long-life electrolytic capacitors, and transformers and coils containing high-grade ferrites, to ensure reliable operation in harsh environmental conditions and up to 3000 metres altitude, says Dengrove. All units are backed by Recom’s five-year warranty.
