Multi-band GNSS module enables ADAS up to 105 degrees C

Integrated and reliable lane identification is provided by the ZED-F9K-01A high-precision AEC-Q104 GNSS module by u-blox. The ZED-F9K-01A is a GNSS (global navigation satellite system) module with embedded hardware, software and IMU (inertial measurement unit) to provide a self-contained positioning module.

The ZED-F9K-01A supports both L1 / L2 / E5B and L1 / L5 bands for flexibility, satellite availability and security. It combines multi-band and multi-constellation GNSS technology with dead reckoning high-precision RTK (real-time kinematic), which enables decimeter-level accuracy.

The u-blox ZED-F9K-01A natively supports the u-box PointPerfect GNSS augmentation service. It delivers multiple GNSS and IMU outputs in parallel to support all possible architectures, said u-blox, including a 50Hz sensor-fused module with very low latency. It enables advanced real-time applications, while the optimised multi-band and multi-constellation capability maximises the number of visible satellites even in urban conditions.

Dependable protection level output and advanced security features include anti-spoofing and anti-jamming. The modules operates at up to 105 degrees C for integration into vehicles “without design constraints” said u-blox.

ZED-F9K-01A will be on display at CES 2023 in Las Vegas, USA in January (booth #10923). Samples of ZED-F9K-01A are available today for evaluation.

u-blox specialises in positioning and wireless communication in automotive, industrial, and consumer markets to develop services and products which let people, vehicles, and machines determine their precise position and communicate wirelessly over cellular and short range networks. The company has a broad portfolio of chips, modules and secure data services and connectivity.

u-blox is headquartered in Thalwil, Switzerland, and has offices in Europe, Asia, and the USA. (www.u-blox.com)

Long-reach, single pair PoE drives intelligence in factory automation

Believed to be the world’s first single pair power over Ethernet (SPoE) power sourcing equipment (PSE) and power device (PD) solutions to help customers drive greater levels of intelligence into smart buildings, factory automation, and other applications at the edge of traditional networks.

They are designed to facilitate powered, last-mile connectivity for factory and building automation through real-time power management, telemetry, extremely low standby power consumption and ease of installation.

“The Intelligent Edge is one of the most exciting developments of the digital era as computing power is pushed to previously inaccessible applications and locations,” said Leo McHugh, vice president of industrial automation at Analog Devices.

The SPoE solutions, the LTC4296-1 and LTC9111, address the challenges of providing power and data to devices, even in remote, difficult to access endpoint locations, said Analog Devices. They are designed to help new families of endpoint applications to be seamlessly powered and accessed across the network and used to assess local factors such as asset health, environmental conditions and security metrics.

Analog Devices’ SPoE solutions reduce reliance on localised power and batteries by using a single twisted pair of Ethernet cables to provide efficient, reliable, easily installed power at reduced size and weight. When combined with ADI’s Chronous ADIN1100 and ADIN1110 10BASE-T1L, industrial Ethernet solutions, customers can reliably transfer both power and data over 1km, representing a significant increase compared with previous Ethernet standards, said Analog Devices.

The LTC4296-1 5-port SPoE PSE with Classification and LTC9111 SPoE PD with Polarity Correction products support both SPoE and power over data line (PoDL) variants of single pair powering. SPoE augments single pair Ethernet (SPE) to provide more reliable, fault-tolerant, and interoperable point-to-point power solutions, delivering up to 52W. Both products are 802.3cg-compliant and support Serial Communication Classification Protocol (SCCP).

Analog Devices operates at the centre of the modern digital economy, with a comprehensive suite of analogue and mixed signal, power management, radio frequency (RF), and digital and sensor technologies. ADI serves 125,000 customers worldwide with more than 75,000 products in the industrial, communications, automotive, and consumer markets.

Compact, power-efficient CoM is powered by Intel Atom x6000E series

The NanoCOM-EHL is the computer on module (CoM) developed by Aaeon which brings the Intel Atom x6000E Series to the COM Express Type 10 form factor.

It has Intel Atom x6000E series processing power, onboard LPDDR4 and a range of I/O features on a small module for use in compact products.

The NanoCOM-EHL uses power-efficient 12W Intel Atom, Pentium and Celeron processors with onboard LPDDR4 system memory of up to 16Gbyte on a compact form factor, measuring 3.31 x 2.17 inches (84 x 55mm). The module also has the option of 64Gbyte of onboard eMMC storage.

The NanoCOM-EHL has the capacity to host multiple expansion modules via its four PCIe slots. Together with the module’s processing power and small form factor, this makes it suitable for semiconductor test equipment use.

I/O consists of two high speed (10Gbits per second) USB 3.2 slots, eight USB 2.0 slots and a dual LVDS / eDP display output. There is also a 2.5GbE and a high definition audio output interface.

The low power NanoCOM-EHL is suitable for smart transport systems where it can be used in passenger information systems and streaming control applications.

The NanoCOM-EHL is now in mass production.

Established in 1992, Aaeon designs and manufactures industrial IoT and AI Edge solutions. The company provides reliable, high quality computing platforms including industrial motherboards and systems, rugged tablets, embedded AI edge systems, uCPE network appliances, and LoRaWAN / WWAN solutions. It also supports OEMs and ODMs worldwide and works closely with cities and governments to develop and deploy Smart City ecosystems.

Aaeon works closely with chip designers to deliver stable, reliable platforms.
