High current probes test assemblies for embedded OEM applications
Leveraging over 50 years’ of experience, Everett Charles Technologies (ECT), offers a high current product portfolio. The high current probes can be chosen to test printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and electronic assemblies as well as embedded original equipment manufacture (OEM) applications.
There are multiple options ranging from 10 to 150A DC. ECT addresses the major technical challenges facing high current probes, namely consistent high current carrying capacity and low heat dissipation.
ECT high current spring probes provide a range of capabilities. The rugged design is optimised to ensure solid contact and resistance as low as five milli Ohm, making them suitable for inline applications. The probe tips have been engineered to maximise contact surface area and reduce arcing.
ECT high current probes are designed to optimise current carrying capacity and minimise path resistance. ECT’s engineering team uses highly conductive materials and platings, ensuring maximum current carrying capacity, wear resistance, and thermal integrity. All high current probes are designed to provide extreme durability, says the company, while offering high, stable contact force. For example, the ECT 100A probe has a spring force of about eight pounds, while the flat tip geometry and ECT’s bias ball architecture ensure low resistance, is one example cited by the company.
ECT high current spring probes are suited to a variety of applications, from in-circuit and industrial testing to OEM applications. They can be used for both high volume production and engineering test lab environments. End- users include board test houses, fixture companies, and direct OEM customers.
