Digital services uses secure IP technology to save workplace costs

Schneider Electric has developed a suite of digital services to convert traditional office buildings into smart, responsive workplaces of the future. The EcoStruxure Workplace Advisor uses real-time data from wireless sensors and other devices, to enable building managers to optimise space in flexible work environments, enhance occupant well-being, and efficiently manage facility services.

EcoStruxure is Schneider Electric’s open, interoperable, IoT-enabled system architecture and platform. It features essential analytics and services that fulfil needs in new or retrofit commercial office buildings. Its occupancy analytics allows users to quickly identify underutilised desks, offices, meeting rooms, and amenities for effective re-allocation. Building managers can rationalise space needs and change layouts to align with usage and evolving staff numbers. It lets employees see available spaces in real-time to support office hoteling.

Well-being analytics actively monitors temperature, humidity, CO2, noise, light and volatile organic compound (VOC) levels. Users benefit from a proprietary Comfort Score that helps to proactively pinpoint spaces that have consistent comfort issues that impact occupants’ work environments.

Employee productivity can be helped with the geo-location and wayfinding feature. The mobile navigation app provides the location of colleagues, meeting spaces, desks, or other amenities. It also maintains digital floor plans so they are always up-to-date.

EcoStruxure Workplace Advisor is a cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) and will continuously respond to customer demands with additional functionality, including people analytics, asset tracking, and integration into other building systems such as reservations and ticketing.

EcoStruxure Workplace Advisor is flexible, scalable and future-ready for integration to address a wide range of changing customer needs, says Schneider Electric. It is based on a secure IP architecture from the sensor level to the cloud, to provide the highest quality data and level of scalability with best-in-class security, claims the company.

Schneider Electric operates in the digital transformation of energy management and automation in homes, buildings, data centres, infrastructure and industries. It is present in over 100 countries, and specialises in power management, medium voltage, low voltage and secure power and in automation systems.
